GovBridge

The UK Space Agency Accelerator GovBridge Programme will deliver focused and intensive support to space businesses looking to sell their products or services to the UK Government (central and local). If you believe the Government is a potential customer for your business but you’re unsure where to begin or what the process looks like, GovBridge is the perfect programme to fill that gap!

What Can You Expect From GovBridge?

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the GovBridge programme, you must:

  • Have the desire to sell your products/services/tech to the UK Government.

  • Be ready to sell your products/services/tech to the Government within 2 years.

The GovBridge programme runs in two cohorts – one focuses on selling civilian products and services to the Government (central and local), and the other focuses on selling dual-use technologies for defence purposes to the Government and the Ministry of Defence.

Please note: This programme is designed to educate participants about securing Government contracts through procurement, not grant funding - if you are looking for support with securing grant funding, this programme is not for you.

What we are looking for

We assess applications against the following criteria:

  • Capacity and Commitment: Can you commit to attending all programme events (outlined in the application form), and will you make the most of them?

  • Intention: Do you have a clear idea of what you want to gain from the programme?

  • Innovation: Do you have a unique product or service that would benefit the UK Government?

  • Traction: How close are you to having a viable product or service to sell to the Government?

  • Necessity: Do you genuinely need support understanding the Government procurement process?

What You Will Get

GovBridge is a 3-month programme designed to provide focused and intensive support to demystify the Government procurement process and help you refine your business offering to better suit Government requirements. Working with a committed team of delivery partners, valuable industry contacts, and a cohort of like-minded entrepreneurs, you should graduate from the programme feeling confident that you understand the Government procurement process and how you can position yourself for success.

The GovBridge programme includes:

  • A two-day in-person Boot Camp full of insightful learning sessions and opportunities to connect with your fellow cohort members and valuable industry contacts.

  • Virtual Action Learning Workshops which will provide the opportunity to delve deeper into some of the key topics touched on at Boot Camp, led by experts across the Government procurement process.

  • A mid-point 1:1 support session from one of Exotopic’s procurement experts, reviewing your progress on the programme and ensuring you have the tailored support you need to achieve your key programme goals.

  • A final one-day in-person Catalyst Event where you will reflect on your progress since the start of the programme, look forward to your next phase of growth and gain more networking time with valuable industry contacts.

It’s important to note that you will only get as much out of this programme as you put into it – the programme will provide the essential knowledge and information, but you need to take these learnings and put them into practice if you want to see results.

Outcomes

  • Gain knowledge and confidence in how to access Government procurement, building sustainable skills that will deliver a return over time.

  • Create a structured Government-focussed 90-day business development plan for immediate impact.

  • Connect with experts and peers to share successful practice, knowledge and networks, and solve challenges together.

Please note: There is no guarantee that you will secure a Government contract as a result of the programme – our aim is to support you to develop your value proposition and equip you with the tools you need to support your next steps.
